Swimmers 9-14 years of Age

Swimmers 9 years or older may attend the pool unaccompanied by an adult (18 years or older). Swimmers 9-14 years old must pass a test and a medical form must be filled out every year. Tests may be performed during safety breaks only. Please notify a lifeguard before safety break that your child needs a swim test.

 

Part one: Swim one length of the pool safely.

Part two: Show that they have understanding of and willingness to follow the pool rules. 

Part three: Have parents complete medical form and turn into lifeguard

Children 9 years old or older not able to pass the swim test, or not able to follow the pool rules, will be asked to visit the pool ONLY when accompanied by an adult. The individual accompanying the child must remain at the pool with the child and must actively supervise the swimming and behavior of the child. 

 

As always, parents and guardians are asked to be aware of the length of time a child spends at the pool. Young swimmers, if left unattended for an extended amount of time, raises the concern of lifeguards who will report their concern to the Board if it becomes necessary.
